I Didn’t Feel Like Writing This Week

A softly lit bedroom with sunlight coming through a window, creating a calm and restful atmosphere.

So I’ve missed a weekly blog post.

Not that it’s anything earth-shattering. Honestly, it probably did me some good.

It gave me some time for much needed R&R.

I’m not going to apologize for listening to my body–it’s what I needed, both for my health and creative process.

I’ve just recently gotten back from a work trip–for my day job– and since being back, everything has felt a little off.

Not like I’m overwhelmingly backlogged with emails, damaged equipment, or things like that.

Just enough that adds up after a while.

I didn’t feel like writing.

I didn’t feel like doing much of anything really.

There was a moment that I felt unsettled–like there was something wrong with me.

Sometimes it’s not a lack of motivation–it’s just a lack of rest.

After sitting with it, racking my brain, I realized it wasn’t that deep.

Turns out when you pair poor sleep quality with jet lag your body tends to protest.

It makes everything feel off.

I think sometimes I forget how much getting a good night’s rest really matters.

How quickly your body is affected when you’re not fully reseted.

Still I wouldn’t say I’m back 100% yet, but I do feel a bit better than I did when I first got back.

And right now, that’s the sweet spot I’ve landed in.

So my clawlings, I hope you’ve all been getting plenty of rest and are putting your body first!

More Soon,

Quill
